At BioFitt, we specialize in teaching you how to unlock your athletic potential.
The development and enhancement of Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness (i.e., SPARQ) requires quality coaching and very specific instruction that blends anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, and a growth mindset.
Beyond understanding how to improve your physical performance, you will gain a deep understanding of the character traits, mindset, and leadership qualities required to reach your true potential on the field, the court, or in the classroom.
When strength and power are then added to smooth, automatic, and unconscious performance you have the beginning of a BioFitt Athlete! Throughout the entire learning process, our coaching style is fully informed by best-in-class, well-established motor skill acquisition and learning principles.
When learning a new movement skill, such as sprinting or shooting a basketball, athletes should be taught what actions to do and why, and then how to put the actions together. We explain, we show, we correct movement deficiencies, and we praise the athlete when the skill is successfully executed. Then, we do it again and again, until our athletes are able to understand and execute automatically—this is at the heart of motor skill development.
We believe athletes need to be given enough opportunity to practice and make the newly acquired skill automatic. So we teach each and every student how to move with intent, passion, and purpose for their sport, skill, stage of growth, and the unique strengths natural to their own body type.
The name BioFitt has a special meaning as it blends the word ‘Bio’ which means ‘Life’ with the mnemonic/ acronym FITT (Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type of Movement), which describes the primary factors that need to be considered when designing a comprehensive and progressive athlete development system.
Reflecting on previous athletic endeavours and achievements, and now fully aware of the amazing coaching and support systems made available to us, we now feel it is our time to pay-it-forward.
If you didn’t know, coaching, teaching, and mentoring is one of the most fulfilling experiences a person might have.
We coach to bring about positive change in peoples’ lives, to enable the development of a growth mindset, to build our community, and to create opportunities for success. But honestly, when one of your athletes or mentees successfully executes on your coaching and mentorship, it is an indescribable feeling of optimism and joy!
We aim to bring a new attitude to the development of athletic fundamentals through a systematic approach to Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness (SPARQ) training. We will continue to work on a collaborative basis with various sports academies, associations, and non-profit organizations, who endeavour to put character development and a growth mindset on an equal footing with physical movement competency.
